“Movement never lies. It is a barometer telling the state of the soul’s weather to all who can read it.”   – Martha Graham

Joanna has been practicing massage and movement therapies in Portland, Oregon since 2009. A life long love of dance has fueled her path, leading her towards bodywork as a natural expression of her artistry. As a Thai massage therapist, Joanna finds great joy in crafting thoughtful and fluid sequencing that feels whole and inclusive of the entire body. Each session is considered and choreographed as a piece of art for the body.

Joanna’s discovery of natural, ancestral posture plays a major role in her bodywork career, as well. After a serious back injury, caused by years of poor postural habits and exacerbated by her yoga practice, she found the work of Esther Gokhale, longtime student of Noelle Perez-Christiaens. These concepts revolutionized her understanding of the body and how to use it in a way that respects its natural structure. Studying and teaching with leaders in the natural posture movement has allowed Joanna to deeply ingrain these messages into both her physical body and intellectual understanding. The gift of healthy posture is something Joanna is grateful to have and to share in her practice.

Joanna has had the privilege to teach natural posture across the United States and Canada, including at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA.
